Epigenetics expert Michael Skinner, PhD, will serve a guest lecturer at the UC Department of Environmental Health on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010. His presentation—entitled "Epigenetic Transgenerational Actions of Environmental Compounds on Disease: Heritable Ghosts in Your Genome”—will take place at 10 a.m. in Kehoe Auditorium at Kettering Laboratories. Skinner is a leading scientist in the field of epigenetics and current professor in the School of Biological Sciences at Washington State University. Until 2008, he served as director of the university’s Center for Reproductive Biology and Center for Integrated Biotechnology. His research focuses on mammalian reproduction and environmental epigenetics on a systems biology level.
