Environmental Health Seminar

Description:

Rakesh Patel, PhD, will be speaking on "Harnessing the Nitrite-Nitric oxide axis for treating Inhaled irritant induced cardio-pulmonary toxicity: the example of chlorine gas” at the UC Department of Environmental Health seminar at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, in Kettering Laboratories' Kehoe Auditorium. Patel’s seminar is co-sponsored by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences-funded Center of Environmental Genetics at the UC College of Medicine. 

Patel is a professor iof pathology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. His research interests center on understanding the mechanisms by which reactive species modulate cellular function during inflammatory stress and using the insights gained to develop and test therapeutics that target redox signaling processes.
