Environmental Health Seminar

Description:

Rakesh Patel, PhD, will speak on, "Harnessing the Nitrite-Nitric oxide axis for treating inhaled irritant induced cardio-pulmonary toxicity: The example of chlorine gas.

Patel is a professor of pathology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. His research interests center on understanding the mechanisms by which reactive species modulate cellular function during inflammatory stress and using the insights gained to develop and test therapeutics that target redox signaling processes.


The seminar is co-sponsored by the NIEHS funded Center of Environmental Genetics (CEG), at the College of Medicine.
