CCTST Grand Rounds on Comparative Effectiveness Research

Description:

The next Center for Clinical and Translational Science and Training (CCTST) Grand Rounds will feature, "Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER): Challenges and Opportunities,” presented by Lisa Simpson, president and CEO of AcademyHealth in Washington D.C. and former director of the Child Policy Research Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Simpson will explain the critical role of CER in providing information on the costs and benefits of different treatment options as a guide to fiscal policy. She will also describe the funding sources and agencies involved in CER, and identify some of the key data issues.

The vision of AcademyHealth is to improve health and health care by generating new knowledge and moving knowledge into action.

CCTST Grand Rounds are free of charge, open to the public and now offered monthly, generally on the third Friday in the Medical Sciences Building. CME is offered.
