A fundraiser for the Village Life Outreach Project, "Night on the Serengeti" will transport guests to the country of Tanzania, where they will experience the sights, sounds and tastes of African culture. UC President Gregory H. Williams, PhD, will serve as keynote speaker of the event.
The Village Life Outreach Project is a nonprofit organization led by UC Health primary care physician Chris Lewis, MD. Founded in 2004, the organizationís mission is to unite communities to promote life, health and education. Most of Village Lifeís work focuses on three remote and impoverished villages in the Rorya district of Tanzania, East Africa.
Event attendees will enjoy a plated dinner and a special "Rafiki" ceremony while Village Life highlights the progress it has made in 2010, and honors esteemed guests, sponsors and partners. There will also be a silent auction showcasing authentic African artifacts and local business products and services.
