The emergency medicine departments at UC and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center are partnering to host a research symposium, "Building Bridges to Advance Science" at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Wednesday, Aug. 29.
The event, held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will bring together key stakeholders and researchers in order to build bridges and advance collaborations in community emergency research.
Physicians, clinical coordinators, basic scientists, and experts in regulatory issues will be invited, as well as non-emergency medicine representatives to include the entire community involved in emergency care research.
The overarching goal of the symposium is to discover and develop at least two topic areas in which both programs share interest and expertise and to explore collaborative projects and funding.
The day will include discussions on clinical trial and industry relations, technology in research, exception from informed consent research and small group discussions.
Topic areas to be discussed include:
- Prehospital Care
- Neurologic Emergencies/Traumatic brain injury
- Public Health
- Trauma/Child Abuse
- Basic Science/Toxicology
- Quality Measures
- Operations and Implementation
