Diabetes Day 2012

UC's Reading Campus, 2120 E. Galbraith Road. Parking is free. Identification is required to enter.


Description:

UC's Diabetes Day 2012 will feature state-of-the-art presentations by internationally recognized leaders in the field of diabetes. Panel discussions will provide interaction between the speakers and the participants.

Topics include:

-Historical overview of type 2 diabetes and insulin secretion.
-Treating type 2 diabetes with insulin.
-HbA1c--can results be taken at face value?
-Current and future use of incretin-based drugs.
-Bariatric surgery and treatment for diabetes and obesity.
-Treatment of diabetes in hospitalized patients.
-Medical treatment of obesity: Where are we now?

Key audiences for this event include internists, family physicians, endocrinologists, and residents-in-training involved in the care and treatment of patients with diabetes. Basic scientists interested in obesity and diabetes research are also encouraged to attend.

Continuing education credit is available.
