Taft Keynote Address: The Historical Politics of Medical Racism
Date: Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013
Time: 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Location:
Medical Science Building Room E-351

Description:

Rahn Bailey, MD, the President of the National Medical Association, which is the national network for physicians of color in the United States, will speak on the history of medical racism.

A recent New York Times bestselling book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks brought much-needed attention to the relationship of racism, medical arrogance, bio-ethics, and poverty in America.

Bailey is uniquely qualified to speak to these issues and the current state of race and modern science during "Health & Wellness” week of UC's Celebration of Black History Month.
