The UC Health Mobile Diagnostics Van is partnering with the Salon Professional Academy to host the Mammograms and Manicures event, providing vouchers for a free manicure to all women who receive a mammogram on the van between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.
The van, which will be located outside of the academy, 3330 Parkcrest Lane off Glenway Avenue in Western Hills, is equipped with tomosynthesis technology, 3D mammography which allows experts to image breast tissue in one-millimeter slices and provides greater visibility of the breast tissue, increasing accuracy and decreasing the need to call patients back for extra imaging.
The diagnostics van is the only one of its kind in the region and one of six in the nation; it has been providing services in the Tristate for seven months.
The manicure voucher can be redeemed on the day of the mammogram or at a later date. Goodie bags and refreshments will also be available for participants.
