The University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute will host "University Retreat for Research: Cincinnati Charge Against Cancer/Cancer Curathon,” from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Kingsgate Marriott Conference Center, 151 Goodman Drive.
This event will bring researchers from across both UC campuses together for a meeting of the minds and provide an opportunity for interaction with colleagues and the development of new collaborations. It will start with a brief overview of the 11 centers and programs of the UC Cancer Institute, and an exciting and unique competitive event will be introduced that will create a novel scientific project to impact the field of cancer research.
Participants will be split into multidisciplinary teams and given time to brainstorm and develop a concept for a research project. Following a presentation by each team, the entire group will vote and the top ranked proposal will be awarded $100,000. The winning group will have one month to formalize their proposal for final approval.
The event is invitation only. With questions, call Vijaya Gandhi, PhD, at 513-558-9914.
