'Ready, Set, Go!' Series Workshop 7

Description:

The College of Medicine Office of Faculty Affairs and Development, Office of Research, and UC LEAF are pleased to present the seventh lecture in the 2014-15 "Ready, Set, Go!" series.
 
Alex Lentsch, PhD, senior associate dean at the UC College of Medicine, will facilitate this session on Planning for Career Advancement and Reappointment, Promotion and Tenure (RPT).

Learning Objectives:
  • Understand the value you bring to your department, college and university.
  • Understand your departmental and college reappointment, promotion and tenure (RPT) guidelines and process.
  • Identify the requirements for each level of career advancement.
  • Understand the common mistakes faculty make in their dossiers and in their professional decisions.
  • Understand how to take advantage of your annual performance review.
  • Develop a plan to reach the necessary milestones for career advancement.
  • Identify resources for career development.
Ready, Set, Go! is a nine-course series of programs, facilitated by an interdisciplinary team of research faculty, and is designed to provide new faculty members with the competence and skills to set up and maintain a successful research laboratory or clinical research program.
