Movement and Gait Lab Grand Opening
Date: Thursday, May 17, 2007
Time: 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Location: French East, 4th Floor

Description:

After three years of planning, the Movement and Gait Lab in the department of rehabilitation sciences is complete. The newly renovated 900-square-foot space is located on the 4th floor of the French East Building. The renovations include special flooring, lighting and ventilation that will enable students and faculty to capture and analyze motions in the arms, legs and trunk as individuals, walk, stand and perform functions of daily living. Graduate physical therapy students and undergraduate health science students will utilize the lab to visualize and measure movements of children and adults.  Faculty will access the new facilities to study balance and the range of joint motion in populations with and without musculoskeletal or neuromuscular dysfunctions.
