Apurva Mehta, MD, of the division of hematology-oncology and his committee, will host the seventh annual Lung Cancer Symposium, "Modern Approaches to Diagnosis and Treatment."
Attendees will learn about breakthrough methods in detecting early-stage lung cancer and how radiofrequency ablation and extracranial sterotactic radiotherapy are used to treat lung tumors. They also will learn how to identify high-risk, early-stage lung cancers by gene and protein expression profiling.
Presenters will discuss how to workup a patient with lung cancer, describe the status of lung screening and explain how patients can "kick"the cigarette habit.
The conference is open for all physicians, nurses and other health care professionals who are interested in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
