Pilot Project Grant Symposium

Description:

The 2007 Center for Environmental Genetics pilot grant awardees will present updates

on the following research projects:

 

• “Genetic Susceptibility to PCB-induced Developmental Neurotoxicity,”

Charles Vorhees, PhD, in collaboration with Daniel Nebert, PhD, Michael Williams, PhD

and Christine Curran.

 

• “Interaction Between COMT Genotype and Nicotine Exposure on

Neurocognition in Young Adults,” Krista Medina, in collaboration with

Judith Strong, PhD, James Eliassen, PhD, and Paula Shear, PhD

 

• “Immunogenetics of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Susceptibility,” Scott Wesselkamper, PhD, in collaboration with Ranjan Deka, PhD,

and Mario Medvedovic, PhD

 

• “Epigenetic Dysregulation of Airway Epithelial Cell Gene Expression in

the Pathogenesis of Smoking-Induced COPD,” Dennis McGraw, MD, in

collaboration with Shuk-mei Ho, PhD

 

The CEG is currently accepting applications for the 2009 Pilot Project Grant program.  Details can be found at the CEG website, or http://www.eh.uc.edu/ceg/pdf/PPP_RFA_o9.pdf.  All PPG applications using human subjects must be approved by the Integrative Health Sciences core, under the direction of Susan Pinney, PhD.
