Healthcare Reform: The Physician’s Perspective
Date: Monday, Nov. 16, 2009
Time: Noon - 1 p.m.
Location:

Fourth floor of the Stetson Building at the corner of Martin Luther King and Highland, across from University Hospital.

Description:

As critical stakeholders in medical care, the physician voice has been ever-present, but certainly not unified, in the ongoing national health care debate. As the health care reform discussion unfolds, what are the key issues on physician’s minds? What are the predicted outcomes of reform as currently proposed? What are the potential unintended consequences on the cost of medical care? This Health Policy Forum will address one physician’s concerns relative to reform, and include a discussion among participants about the future of healthcare in America.

Thomas Boat, MD, will be speaking. Boat is CEO of UC Physicians and executive associate dean at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr Boat is immediate past director of the Children’s Hospital Research Foundation and past Chairman of the College of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics. He also was physician-in-chief of Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati.
