More discoveries and developments

In 2007, the College launched an extensive strategic planning process aimed at identifying and building upon strengths and recognizing opportunities for growth afforded through important partnerships--all with the goal of better meeting the needs of the community.

More than 100 faculty and staff, along with partners from University Hospital, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the Cincinnati Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Shriners Hospitals for Children–Cincinnati, came together to inform the strategic planning process. Almost all of 2007 was devoted to joint planning and soliciting comment from more than 2,000 colleagues and community members.

Out of the planning process came the College’s vision and mission.

Through collaboration and innovation, we will be the leader in improving the health of our local and global community.

We will improve health for all through:

  • Personalized care embracing best clinical practices
  • Premier clinical and scientific training
  • Innovative interdisciplinary research
  • Creative community partnerships
