TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH: A new research program, launched in March 2011, is aimed at understanding the biological mechanisms of cancerís spread to the brain and developing more effective ways to treat the condition. More than 170,000 people are diagnosed annually with a secondary cancer that has spread to the brain.
