Caleb Adler, MD, an associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral neuroscience, will speak at an educational initiative offering continuing education credit Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Southern State Community Collegeís Appalachian Gateway Center in Sardinia, Ohio.
Adler will speak on "Practical Approaches for Optimizing Management of Patients With Bipolar Disorder" at the event, which begins at 6:15 p.m. with registration and dinner (included with the $5-per-person registration). The presentation begins at 7 and concludes at 8.
In addition to Adlerís keynote speech, the program will focus on screening tools to improve the diagnosis of bipolar disorder, appropriate clinical practice guidelines, coordination of care among primary care providers and mental health specialists and enhancement of clinician-patient communication.
Continuing education credit is available for physicians and nurses.
This event is presented by the University of Cincinnati Area Health Education Center in Georgetown, Ohio, and the NOW (Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin) Coalition for Bipolar Disorder (NOW Bipolar). Henry Nasrallah, MD, is medical director for NOW Bipolar.
