1999 Festival of Life Cancer Survivors Celebration

CincinnatióCancer survivors will cruise on four of the BB Riverboats for the Festival of Life, the Tristate celebration of the National Cancer Survivors Day. The event, held 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. June 6, will include a two-hour cruise of the Ohio River, complete with banjo entertainment, door prizes and a buffet. Each boat will have at least one guest celebrity on board. Guests include WCPO-TV medical reporter Bill Price, helicopter traffic reporter Ted Florko, Cincinnati Enquirer columnist Laura Pulfer, Cincinnati journalist Camilla Warrick, and Krueger, a search and rescue dog from South Bend, Indiana, who is a cancer survivor himself.

Any cancer survivor is invited to join in the fun and bring along one guest. Tickets cost $5 each and will be available April 26 through May 7. Registration is required to board the boat.

To register, call 584-LIFE (5443) between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday April 26-May 1 or May 3-7. For questions or cancellations after May 7, call the American Cancer Society at (513) 891-1600. Please note that registration phone lines will not be activated until April 26.
