Price Receives Marie Brown Award

Cincinnati—Lynda Price, director of faculty and administrative affairs for the University of Cincinnati (UC) Medical Center, is the first recipient of the Marie Brown Award. The honor was named for Marie Brown who worked at the UC Medical Center and University Hospital for 16 years. Brown was known for her successful collaborations within and across departments and institutions. She passed away in October 1997. The award recognizes an unsung hero who has enhanced the Medical Center through continuing, ongoing efforts, including interdisciplinary research efforts within or between colleges.

Price was selected for the award in recognition of her problem solving efforts for Medical Center employees as well as her work on women's issues. "Lynda encourages cooperation across the Medical Center, and she always does this with a smile," says Donald Harrison, MD, senior vice president and provost for the UC Medical Center. "Receiving the award was emotional because I knew Marie and worked with her," says Price. "I thought so highly of her, and I am humbled because I consider her to be a role model." Price was presented a plaque and a $500 award from the UC Medical Center.
