Cincinnati—The UC College of Medicine will hold its Honors Day program at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 29 at Music Hall. This year's speaker will be Boomer Esiason,
ABC sports commentator, former Cincinnati Bengal quarterback, and a
leading figure in the fight against cystic fibrosis. During the
program, the annual Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence will be
presented to five-time winner Israel Penn, MD, professor of surgery and
director of surgical student education at the College of Medicine.
Silver Apple Awards will be presented to LeAnn Coberly, MD, associate
professor of internal medicine, and Clarence McLain, MD, professor of
On Friday, June 11, the College of Nursing will recognize its students in a separate graduation ceremony to be held in Shoemaker Center at 5:00 p.m. A graduation ceremony for the College of Allied Health Sciences will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Kresge Auditorium which is located in the front lobby of the Medical Sciences Building.

to honor outstanding alumni and preceptors. This year's honorees
include: Richard Schaeper, Preceptor of the Year; C. Robert Blake,
Robert J. DeSalvo Award winner; and Thomas J. Thomas, Distinguished
Alumni Award winner. The commencement convocation for College of Pharmacy graduates is June 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium.
