Cincinnati—Kathleen Rourke, PhD, associate dean of the College of
Allied Health Sciences, has received the Ohio Dietetic Association
Research award at the group's annual meeting in Dayton. Her current
research explores the effects of weight and body composition changes on
bone mass in adolescent females.
Earlier this year, Rourke was
selected as one of eight members from four-year institutions nationwide
for a Leadership Coalition Conference. Sponsored by the Association for
Schools for Allied Health Professionals, Association for Two-Year
Colleges, and the Health Professions Network, the coalition was
developed and funded by a grant from the federal government to train
and develop leaders of allied health for the new millennium. Two
one-week sessions are offered with programs on legislative process and
development of leadership skills.
