The James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy student pharmacy organizations Kappa Epsilon, Christian Pharmacy Fellowship International and Student National Pharmaceutical Association teamed up this holiday season to assist families in need with a giving tree for gifts and monitary donations. One of the families that students stepped up to assist was that of a fellow classmate, Gordon Alobwede, a fourth-year pharmacy student who passed away of a sudden illness Oct. 20, 2012.
Although educated in economics, Alobwede, who was born in the West African nation of Cameroon and moved to the U.S. in 2003, was a beloved fellow student at UCís James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy and also worked at Walmart Pharmacy. Alobwede is survived by a wife and three young sons.
Many thanks to the pharmacy students for making this holiday season a little better for these families.
