Wednesday night, March 12, the contractor for the Medical Sciences Building
(MSB) Rehabilitation Project will begin removing barrier walls on Level 5 in
preparation for ceiling duct work. This work will be performed on weeknights
between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. The walls will be removed Wednesday and Thursday; the
duct work will continue for about six more weeks.
barrier walls will be removed in two corridors that intersect with the main hallway:
the hallway running from Suite 5004 to the CARE/Crawley bridge, and the hallway
adjacent to Classroom 5051. A temporary plastic ceiling will be put back to
maintain the construction barrier for negative air containment, creating inward
airflow and confining odors and particles to the work area. The walls will stay
down for the remainder of the construction (through the end of 2014).
addition, the ceiling will be removed in the main passenger elevator area of
Level 6, also for duct work, and a plastic barrier will be installed with
negative air containment.
