Acting United States Surgeon General, Rear Adm. Boris Lushniak, MD, MPH, will lecture at the College of Medicine at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, in Kresge Auditorium. The lecture’s title is, "The United States Surgeon General Report—Fighting Tobacco for 50 Years.”
Lushniak’s medical career has roots in Cincinnati, as an alumnus of the UC residency program in dermatology. In 1988, as a lieutenant in the U.S. Public Health Service Commission Corps, he was stationed at the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in Cincinnati.
He conducted epidemiological investigations of workplace hazards and in 1990 was accepted for the CDC’s long-term training program, completing a three-year residency in dermatology at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
