Krummel Named Nutrition and Dietetics Fellow

Ruth E. Rosevear Chair of Nutritional Sciences Debra Krummel, PhD, has been named Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the largest organization of food and nutrition professionals.
 
Designation as a Fellow recognizes Academy members who have distinguished themselves among their colleagues, as well as in their communities, by their service to the dietetics profession and by optimizing the nationís health through food and nutrition.
 
Krummel was specifically recognized for her leadership roles within the Academy, professional and personal volunteer activities and research activities. 

An expert in womenís health, Krummelís has placed her recent research focus on omega-3 supplementation and inflammation markers for pregnant women. She is also an expert in womenís cardiovascular health, obesity prevention in postpartum women, and fetal origins of cardiovascular disease.
 
Fellows inducted this year will be recognized at the Food and Nutrition Conference and Exposition, held Oct. 18-21 in Atlanta.
