On Wednesday, June 11, U.S. Army Sgt. Major Raymond Chandler toured the UC Medical Center and College of Medicine as part of a daylong visit to Cincinnati and celebration of the Army's 239th birthday.

He spent the afternoon viewing the simulation room of the Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills, touring an Institute for Military Medicine lab and hearing from UC researchers studying blood transfusions, traumatic brain injury, hypoxia at altitude and post-traumatic stress disorder.

To conclude his visit, Sgt. Major Chandler viewed a special exhibit of World War I artifacts in the Winkler Center's Lucas Board Room. The exhibit included an original WWI uniform and items on loan from the Cincinnati Museum Center.
