The University of Cincinnati College of Nursing will hold a series of events in conjunction with Healthcare Simulation Week, Sept. 11-15, 2017. Healthcare Simulation Week is organized by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH) and is a celebration of professionals who use simulation to improve the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of health care delivery. SSIH strives to raise awareness of how health care simulation is leading to safer, more knowledgeable patient care.
The College of Nursing will celebrate the week with a variety of activities including "Simulation Is an Immersive Experience: Dive In With Us” which will take place in the simulation lab on the first floor of Procter Hall. The sessions will feature guided tours of the lab and discussions providing a deeper dive into simulation.
Another highlight of the week is the moulage photo contest. Moulage is the art of applying mock injuries for training purposes. Supplies will be available for participants to apply mock injuries to themselves. They will then take selfies and judges will announce the winners on Friday, Sept. 15.
The "Latest Innovations in Simulation” will feature Alex, the voice recognition simulator, and more.
The events are open to College of Nursing students, faculty, staff and alumni. Click here
