Karen Bankston, PhD, associate dean of clinical practice, partnership and community engagement at the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Nursing has been selected as one of 10 exceptional women for 2017ís The Enquirer and The Greater Cincinnati Foundation Women of the Year Awards. The awards pay tribute to the ambitious, passionate and smart women who are committed to improving the Greater Cincinnati region.
Bankston was cited as a woman who overcame childhood challenges to commit herself to impacting the lives of young people through her professional career as well as volunteer work. She serves on a variety of boards, and is the former CEO of Drake Hospital. She was named to her current role at the UC College of Nursing in 2012, and is responsible for facilitating appropriate clinical sites, managing college partnerships and leading efforts related to culture transformation.
Bankston and the other awardees will be honored at a luncheon on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati.
