Cincinnati--Baha M. Sibai, MD, has been appointed chair of the
University of Cincinnati (UC) Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Sibai, professor of obstetrics and gynecology, UC College of Medicine,
recently joined the faculty at UC after serving as chief of the
Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and
Gynecology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis for 11 years.

Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area," says Sibai. Sibai's
research has focused on hypertensive disorders in women, particularly
during pregnancy. Sibai is certified by the American Board of
Obstetrics and Gynecology, is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine expert and
practices at The University Hospital.
He received his
undergraduate degree and MD from the American University in Beirut,
Lebanon, in 1968 and 1972, respectively. His residency was with the
Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at American University. He had two
fellowships, one as a clinical fellow in gynecology at the Lahey Clinic
Foundation, Boston, and the other fellowship with the Division of
Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Tennessee.
