Fashion Show to Benefit Barrett Cancer Center

Cincinnati--To recognize the important work and promising advancements in cancer research that are occurring at University of Cincinnati (UC) Medical Center, Dillard's has generously donated a fashion show to benefit The Barrett Cancer Center. The fashion show and luncheon will be Wednesday, October 11, 2000, in the Hall of Mirrors at the Omni Netherland Plaza. A champagne reception will be held at 11:30 a.m. followed by a luncheon and fashion show from noon to 1:30 p.m. Guest speakers will be Laura Pulfer, Cincinnati Enquirer and Kenneth A. Foon, M.D., Director, The Barrett Cancer Center. Dayna Eubanks, 12WKRC-TV, will moderate the show.

"This will not just be a fashion show, it will be a fashion event!" said Dillard's Special Events Coordinator Kevin Swansey. The production will feature designer names such as Dana Buchman, Escada, Louis Féraud, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, St. John, Ellen Tracy, and more. Fashion:Undercover will incorporate spy themes from James Bond with Bond girls looking for fashion excitement for the winter and the holiday season.

Debie Crosset Warkany and Cate Katz, event co-chairs, said, "We are so grateful to Dillard's and our committee for planning this extraordinary event to benefit cancer research at The Barrett Cancer Center." The event's honorary chair is Mrs. Edyth B. Lindner. The event planning committee includes Eileen Barrett, Jane Battaglia, Marjorie Hiatt, Mickey Kaplan and Joanie Lotts. The event sponsor is The HoneyBaked Ham Company.

The Barrett Cancer Center at the UC Medical Center is a comprehensive cancer center that provides the finest care available to the Greater Cincinnati tri-state region. From detection and diagnosis to treatment, education and research, the center offers all the necessary cancer services at one convenient location. The Barrett Cancer Center, founded in 1988, is named after the late Charles M. Barrett, MD, former chairman of the UC Board of Trustees who dedicated much of his life to the fight against cancer.

The luncheon and fashion show is $45 for Benefactor seating and $75 for Patron seating. Net proceeds benefit The Barrett Cancer Center. For additional information, please contact Jaimie Gilhooley, Senior Development Officer for Cancer Programs at 513-558-3879.
