Cincinnati-- The University of Cincinnati (UC) Department of Emergency Medicine is holding a symposium entitled Pearls of Emergency Medicine for the 21st Century on Friday, September 22 at the Kingsgate Conference Center located on the UC Medical Center campus.
UC College of Medicine established the first emergency medicine
residency training program in the United States on July 1, 1970. The
symposium is part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the program
and will be presented by members of the teaching faculty of the
department as well as former residents and faculty. The symposium
represents a unique opportunity to hear and interact with many of the
founders of emergency medicine as a specialty. They are worldwide
experts in the fields of emergency cardiovascular and neurovascular
care, medical toxicology, prehospital care and pediatric emergency
medicine. The lectures will be supplemented with a comprehensive
printed syllabus, including summaries and references. Course
participants will have ample opportunity for informal discussions with
faculty as well as other participants.
