"Walk of Ages" Benefits Seniors

Cincinnati--The Tenth Annual "Walk of Ages," sponsored by the Health Alliance, Star Bank, and Nova Care, will be held on Saturday, September 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Maple Knoll Village, 11100 Springfield Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246. The four-mile walk begins at Maple Knoll Village with music from the Princeton High School pep band and winds through historic Glendale. All proceeds from Walk of Ages benefit the Maple Knoll benevolent fund for residents who otherwise could not afford to live at the village.

The $10 registration fee includes a T-shirt, snacks, drinks, and a finish-line party featuring a Dixieland band. Participants can join the walk, pet parade, and/or the "Laps for Life" swimming competition for this fee.

The grand prize for the highest sponsored walker is a five-night Western Caribbean cruise for two. The Caribbean cruise is provided through the generosity of AAA of Cincinnati and the Squeri Food Services. Maple Knoll's own WMKV-FM radio station (89.3) will broadcast live from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Pets costumed with historical hats or pet/owner look-a-like costumes will assemble for the pet parade at Maple Knoll at 10:00 a.m. All animals must be kept on a leash and under control at all times. Award categories include: pet and owner look-a-like, society debutante, founding father, founding mother, and the wild and wacky.

Preregistered participants can be part of the "Laps for Life" swimming competition in Maple Knoll's indoor pool from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. by calling (513) 782-4348.

Other sponsors for the "Walk of Ages" include Huber General Contracting, VIOX Services, Inc., US Foodservice, and Maple Knoll Village Home Health Services.
