of Nursing, the Jeannette R. Spero 10th Annual Distinguished
Lectureship Series will be held Feb. 12, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Kingsgate Conference Center, Grand Ballroom. This year's keynote speaker will be Ada Sue Hinshaw, PhD, RN, FAAN, dean of the University of Michigan School of Nursing.
title of Hinshaw's address is "The Work Environment: Nursing
Recruitment, Retention, Research Initiatives, Policies and National
Strategies." Hinshaw has been instrumental in shaping nursing research,
education and practice at the national level. Her research projects
have included the quality of patient caregiving and nursing staff
turnover. Her findings have been published in over 300 journal
articles, books and abstracts. In addition, she has served on numerous
scientific advisory committees and task forces and has been a visiting
professor and speaker at various schools of nursing.

this lecture honors former UC College of Nursing Dean, Jeannette R.
