Hinshaw Keynotes College of Nursing's Spero Lecture

Cincinnati--Sponsored by the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Nursing, the Jeannette R. Spero 10th Annual Distinguished Lectureship Series will be held Feb. 12, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Kingsgate Conference Center, Grand Ballroom. This year's keynote speaker will be Ada Sue Hinshaw, PhD, RN, FAAN, dean of the University of Michigan School of Nursing.

The title of Hinshaw's address is "The Work Environment: Nursing Recruitment, Retention, Research Initiatives, Policies and National Strategies." Hinshaw has been instrumental in shaping nursing research, education and practice at the national level. Her research projects have included the quality of patient caregiving and nursing staff turnover. Her findings have been published in over 300 journal articles, books and abstracts. In addition, she has served on numerous scientific advisory committees and task forces and has been a visiting professor and speaker at various schools of nursing.

Free and open to the public, this lecture honors former UC College of Nursing Dean, Jeannette R. Spero who established this program upon her retirement in 1990. For more information call (513) 558-5380 or e-mail lorraine.mcghee@uc.edu.
