Cincinnati--Roger Guard, University of Cincinnati (UC) assistant senior vice president, Academic Information Technology and Libraries (AIT&L), and Chief Information Officer of the UC College of Medicine, has been elected to the Steering Committee of the Group on Information Resources (GIR) of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

The purpose of the GIR is to provide a forum for leaders to promote excellence in the application and integration of information resources in academic medicine. The AAMC is a non-profit association founded in 1876 to work for reform in medical education. The Association comprises the 125 accredited U.S. medical schools, the 16 accredited Canadian medical schools, 400 major teaching hospitals and health systems, 90 academic and professional societies, representing nearly 100,000 faculty members, and the nation's medical students and residents.
