Cincinnati--The Western & Southern Foundation, a nonprofit
organization designed and funded by Western & Southern Financial
Group, has made a $20,000 donation to The Barrett Cancer Center at the
University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The donation was made in
conjunction with Western & Southern Financial Group's "Strike Out
Cancer" radio promotion on 700 WLW's Reds on Radio broadcasts. This is
the second-consecutive year the foundation has made a $20,000 donation
through the program. A check presentation for the gift will be made
tonight at 6:15 p.m., before tonight's Reds' home game, live on 700 WLW.

Foundation and the cooperation of a broad range of academic and
clinical resources, the Barrett Cancer Center, the cornerstone of UC
Cancer Programs, provides healing and discovery through research and
hope for all in our community suffering the ravages of cancer," said
Cecilia Fenoglio-Preiser, MD, director of the Barrett Cancer Center.
Barrett Cancer Center is committed to discovering new approaches in
cancer prevention, detection and treatment and to providing the finest
care available in the Tri-state region. To continue its fight against
cancer, The Barrett Cancer Center relies on the financial support of

support research projects, allowing physicians and scientists to
investigate and identify the causes and treatments of cancer.
State-of-the-art facilities and equipment are also obtained and
maintained through gifts. Furthermore, donations enhance educational
resources and cancer awareness programs that can help decrease the
incidence of cancer.
