Cincinnati--The University of Cincinnati Medical Center Community
Outreach hats and mittens drive is in full swing. Thousands of
Cincinnati area children have benefited from the drive, which collects
hats and mittens for underprivileged children at local elementary
schools. This is the fourth year of giving hats and mittens to children
in underserved schools in Cincinnati. This year, the goal is to collect
10,000 sets of hats and mittens. With this goal, the group will be able
to donate hats and mittens to 20 area schools.
This year's drive
kicked off yesterday and will last through December 6. Colorfully
wrapped boxes will be distributed in as many Medical Center and West
Campus offices as possible to collect the donations. Fifth Third Bank
is partnering with the Medical Center and hats and mittens can be
dropped off at approximately 20 local 5/3 branch locations. Financial
contributions will also be accepted and will be used to buy additional
sets of hats and mittens.
