UC Educates Community During National Pharmacy Week
In conjunction with National Pharmacy Week, October 19-25, students and faculty from the UC College of Pharmacy will host a series of educational events for the entire community.
Affair on the Square, October 22, 11 a.m. -1 p.m. The Westin Hotel, Downtown Cincinnati Students and faculty of the UC College of Pharmacy will provide free health screenings and valuable information about medications and health conditions. Screenings will include blood glucose checks and blood pressure checks.
Brown Bag Medication Review, October 22, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Kenwood Towne Center, Montgomery Pharmacists from the Health Alliance will be on hand to talk with people about their medication therapy. Participants often bring their medications for review in a brown bag.
Pharmacy Education, October 24, 2-5 p.m. UC west campus, One-Stop Student Center UC College of Pharmacy students will answer questions from other UC students about pharmacy as a career and, about other pharmacy-related questions.
National Pharmacy Week is sponsored by the American Pharmacists Association. This year's theme is Know Your Medicines-Know Your Pharmacist.
The UC College of Pharmacy is one of four colleges within the UC Medical Center. The College offers both professional practice (Doctor of Pharmacy - PharmD) and graduate (MS and PhD) degrees.
