National Specialist Group Honors Two UC Physicians
UC ear, nose and throat specialists Myles L. Pensak, MD, and Thomas A. Tami, MD, have received the Distinguished Service Award of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS).
Dr. Pensak, honored for service on committees and for presenting scientific research at academy meetings, is a professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the Department of Neurosurgery at UC College of Medicine.
Dr. Tami, who received his award for presenting instructional courses and scientific papers at academy meetings and serving on boards and committees, heads the College of Medicine's residency training program in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery.
The academy represents more than 10,000 physicians and allied health professionals specializing in ear, nose, throat, head and neck problems and is one of the oldest medical associations in the nation.
Drs. Pensak and Tami received their awards at the American Academy meeting held in New York Sept. 19-22.
