Ohio women aged 40 and over with limited income or insufficient health insurance could be eligible for free breast and cervical cancer screening, thanks to the UC Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP).
The project, intended to improve a patient's chances of recovery through early diagnosis, is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Ohio Department of Health BCCP Medicaid program. It is administered in southwestern Ohio by UC's Division of Gynecologic Oncology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Participants will receive a free Pap test, pelvic exam, clinical breast exam, mammogram and follow-up diagnostic procedures at any of 60 contracted sites throughout southwestern Ohio.
