Dean's Bridge Funding Award Winners Announced
Three faculty scientists have been named recipients of the latest round of Dean’s Bridge Funding Awards. They are: Judith Heiny, PhD, molecular and cellular physiology, Renu Sah, PhD, psychiatry, and Neville Tam, PhD, environmental health. Each was awarded $40,000. The Dean’s Bridge Funding program was created to provide short-term support for established and productive College of Medicine researchers who have priority scores on pending grant applications that are close to being funded. MSB Rehabilitation: Work Scheduled During Holiday Break
As part of the MSB Rehabilitation Project, fire sprinklers are being installed throughout the project area. To take advantage of areas being out of service over the holiday break, work will be performed in the E-Level Clinical Skills area and Room 5051. The work in Clinical Skills started the morning of Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, and will be completed to a level that will allow the area to return to service on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, with all work being wrapped up the weekend of Jan. 8, 2011. Work in Room 5051 starts Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, and will be completed by Monday, Jan. 3, 2011. Winter Blood Drive Dec. 21
Become a blood donor at the UC Health Winter Blood Drive for Hoxworth Blood Center on Tuesday, Dec. 21. Employee blood donations can be made at University of Cincinnati Physicians office sites in Clifton and West Chester, as well as the Victory Parkway administrative building. All participants will receive a UC Health t-shirt. Donors also will be entered to win gift certificates to Graeter’s and Dewey’s Pizza. Appointments can be made online. Schwartz Center Rounds Dec. 21
The next Schwartz Center Rounds topic for Tuesday, Dec. 21, will be, "The Impact of Errors on Healthcare Providers.” The forum will take place at Medical Sciences Building Room 7051, with lunch starting at 11:45 a.m. and case presentation from noon to 1 p.m. The Schwartz Center Rounds provide a safe environment where caregivers may express feelings and discuss challenges and dilemmas present in their daily work. They are open to physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, administrators, managers and any other UC Health University Hospital associate who would like to participate.
