Zuccarello Named Interim Neurosurgery Chair Mario Zuccarello, MD, professor, vice chair of clinical affairs and co-director of the division of cerebrovascular neurosurgery, has been appointed interim chair of neurosurgery, effective July 1. He will replace Raj Narayan, MD, who is leaving UC in August to become a professor and neurosurgery chair at the newly created Hofstra University School of Medicine in Hempstead, NY. Narayan also will serve as director of the Harvey Cushing Institute of Neurosciences at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. He has served as neurosurgery chair 2002. |

Radiology Launches New Web Site The radiology department has launched its new Web site, www.med.uc.edu/radiology. The site features new content, an expanded patient care, education and research section, dynamic news feed, comprehensive faculty/staff directory and a visitor's guide for recruiting faculty, staff and students. UC Doc Becomes First Pediatrician to Win AGA Educator Award William Balistreri, MD, Dorothy M.M. Kersten Professor of Pediatrics and associate chair of subspecialty education, has become the first pediatrician to receive the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Distinguished Educator Award. Balistreri is also the medical director of the pediatric liver care center and pediatric liver transplantation program at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center. In addition, he serves as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Pediatrics. The AGA honors several individuals each year for their outstanding contributions and achievements in gastroenterology.
