Save the DateóAnnual MLK Memorial Celebration Jan. 15
UC Health will host its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Celebration on Friday, Jan.15, 2010, from 10 a.m. to noon in Kresge Auditorium. The event features presentations and speeches by prominent Cincinnati clergy members and civic leaders, including Alvin Jackson, MD, director of the Ohio Department of Health, who will serve as the keynote speaker. The MLK Choir, comprised of UC Health volunteers and College of Medicine staff, will perform. In addition, winners of the 2010 "The Dream Continues" grants will be announced.


LifeCenter on the Move
Effective today (Monday, Dec. 14), LifeCenter Organ Donor Network will be located at 615 Elsinore Place, Suite 400, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. The centerís move to a new 20,000-square-foot facility allows it to better serve the Tristate. The space makes LifeCenter the only organ procurement organization in Ohio to have an on-site tissue recovery suite, making donation operations more efficient and ultimately helping more people. Embi to Teach Informatics Distance Learning Course
Peter Embi, MD, associate professor of clinical medicine and director of the UC Center for Health Informatics
, will teach a distance learning course as part of the American Medical Informatics Associationís 10x10 e-learning program. The course, which begins on Jan. 4, will provide an introduction to the field of clinical research informatics. For more information, visit
