The endowment will be used for to support medical education efforts of UC’s department of internal medicine, including efforts in undergraduate and graduate medical education and the Educational Innovation Project, an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education program.

He oversees faculty and staff who direct internal medicine residencies and subspecialty fellowship training programs at UC Health University Hospital.
Rouan has been a clinician-educator, clinician-scholar and clinician-leader in graduate medical education since 1987.
"This program is meant to ensure that the UC College of Medicine’s department of internal medicine resident and medical student education programs can continue to lead from a position of strength,” Rouan says. "The proceeds from this endowment already have and will continue to have a lasting impact upon the excellent clinical care provided to our region."
