Hoying Named Interim Dean of Nursing

Cheryl Hoying, PhD, has been named interim dean of the College of Nursing. Since 2005, Hoying has served as senior vice president of patient services at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and in 2007, was named associate dean at the College of Nursing. In January, she will serve as president of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE). Kristi Nelson, PhD, UC's senior vice president for academic planning, will work with Hoying to provide direct oversight and administrative support at the college. Neville Pinto, PhD, dean of the UC Graduate School, will chair the search committee for the next nursing dean, expected to begin work early next year. Dean Andrea Lindell, PhD, recently announced her retirement from the college effective Jan. 1, 2011, after 20 years in the position.
