MLK Drive Closed While Crews Battle Fire

Published February 2011

Martin Luther King Drive on the south side of the medical campus was closed to traffic during the morning rush period Wednesday while Cincinnati Fire Department crews fought a house fire on Euclid Avenue.

The fire, which was reported at 8:32 a.m., was extinguished about 9 a.m. Capt. Michael Washington, spokesman for the fire department, said at the scene that there were no injuries to the occupants of the house or the firefighters.

Martin Luther King Drive was closed between Eden Avenue and Vine Street.

At least 10 Cincinnati Fire Department vehicles responded to the fire in the 3000 block of Euclid, just south of Martin Luther King Drive. A hydrant on the north side of Martin Luther King Drive, about 300 feet away, supplied water, along with some of the fire department vehicles.

Washington said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
