The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) chapter at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine hosted a Residency Fair Wednesday, March 3, to give UC medical students an opportunity to explore more than a dozen residency programs offered in the region.

"Itís a chance for students to ask questions of program directors and recruiters to talk about the city and the hospital they represent,Ē says James Kyriakedes, a second-year medical student and co-director of the event.

While securing a residency is paramount in the last year of medical school, itís never too early to start looking at all of the options, says Kyriakedes, adding that the fair "is a form of outreach, so that we as students can have more exposure to what the difference is between specialties and programs.Ē

Programs represented at the event included the departments of psychiatry and behavioral neuroscience, surgery, anesthesia and emergency medicine at UC Health University Hospital.
