The University of Cincinnati Board of Trustees on Tuesday, June 21, unanimously approved the plan to integrate University of Cincinnati Physicians into UC Health. This was the final step in the approval process for the integration plan, which will be implemented beginning July 1. The UC Physicians Board of Directors approved the plan June 7 while the UC Health Board of Directors gave its approval June 15. The UC Board’s resolution stated that it "supports the integration of University of Cincinnati Physicians into UC Health” and that "the Board desires that UC Health and the University now endeavor to conclude as expeditiously as possible a new affiliation agreement that better reflects the new relationship between our two entities.” It is anticipated that a new affiliation agreement between UC and UC Health will be presented to the UC Board of Trustees for consideration at its September meeting. The resolution noted that the integration plan offers many advantages including "a greater alignment of missions, vision and planning of UC Health and UCP, greater alignment of the clinical components of UC Health and UCP while remaining integrated with the College of Medicine, and a structure that maximizes financial performance and funds flow support of the academic mission.” Additional information concerning integration can be found on the UC Physicians website (www.UCPhysicians.com) along with answers to numerous frequently asked questions.
