Allied Health Recognizes Faculty

The College of Allied Health recently announced the 2005 winners of its faculty excellence awards.

Sara Couch, PhD, associate professor and undergraduate program director in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, garnered the Faculty Excellence in Service award. Dr. Couch has published numerous scientific papers in her field and also serves on the Journal of the American Dietetic Association's board of editors.

Kari Dunning, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, was the recipient of the Faculty Excellence in Research award. Dr. Dunning's main research interest is in injury epidemiology and injury prevention. Recently, she presented her research into falls and injury during pregnancy in Barcelona, Spain.

Rounding out the award winners is Becky Smith, assistant professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, who earned the Faculty Excellence in Teaching award. Smith specializes in the education of dietetics and food and nutrition students, food science, food service management and interdisciplinary education.
