Med Student to Be Radio Voice

Published June 2003

Carl Flink, second year medical student at the UC College of Medicine, has been given what he calls a "once in a lifetime opportunity." May 23, Flink became the radio broadcaster for the Florence Freedom, a local minor league baseball team. All games will be aired on WMOH 1450 AM radio based in Hamilton.

Flink grew up without a television and developed a love for radio. When he came to UC, he became involved with Bearcast, the student run radio station, where he announced for many women's basketball games. Flink will be taking time off from medical school to try his hand at announcing.

"Its definitely scary to leave a sure thing like medical school and head out into the relatively unkown world of radio, but sometimes you just have to take the leap," said Flink.
